[He chuckles, shaking is head as he drapes an arm over Hakkai's torso, sliding smoothly up beside him.]

[Gojyo shifts, looking back up at Hakkai's face with a teasing glint in his eye.]

[Though those eyebrows quickly stitch together in a concerned frown. He reaches forward to press his hand to Hakkai's forehead.]

[He closes his eyes, a pleased smile stretching his mouth wide -- until his eyes pop open on a sudden thought.]

[Gojyo's jaw dropped. He couldn't have been more shocked if Hakkai suddenly announced he was going to join a strip club as the main act.]

Wait wait--

[He suddenly makes himself heavier on top of Hakkai, just in case.]

I was kidding! You seriously-- ?

[He shifts his elbow but doesn't move otherwise.]

You're stalling. You're totally stalling. Oh my god.

[There's that slow grin again.]

You think I'm hot.

[Gojyo knows he's attractive. It's an attribute he uses to his advantage as often as possible. But knowing he's hot and knowing Hakkai thinks he's hot are totally different things and his brain might explode now.]

[But now he has no way left to stall! No nonsense to say to make Gojyo get off this subject.]

[Gojyo's face falls into Hakkai's shirt. A strangled, almost gurgling noise escapes his throat, muffled by the familiar fabric.

Just as suddenly he jerks back up, cupping Hakkai's cheeks with flustered determination.

And kisses him.

It's a quick, fierce thing before he presses their foreheads together.]

Aaaaaaaaaah. You. Are too fucking cute. You're killing me.

[Hakkai is not, in any way, prepared for that. He makes a startled noise - but ultimately doesn't pull away. Why would he? He's surprised, not opposed.]

[Or he wasn't until he's called 'cute'.]

[He repeats it, determined, just as firm as that kiss had been.]

You get all flustered and squirmy. It's cute as fuck.

I'm surprised you're not used to it. One would think a stunning individual such as yourself would fluster a great many people.

Yeah, been called hot before. [And worse. And better.]

But it's different when it's someone you love, yeah?

[Is it that surprising? No. Does he feel the same? Absolutely. But still, hearing it - and hearing it put so simply, so honestly, is strangely jarring. Like it hammers home all the reality of this thing between them. It's real. Just like Gojyo actually being here.]

[Does he deserve this?]

[He probably doesn't. Not a second chance. Not another love. He's probably the least deserving person in the world. Gojyo absolutely deserves someone to care for him, to stay with him. And Hakkai has no intention of doing anything less. He just - does he - is this right - for Gojyo's sake - ]

[Things get more and more tangled up the more he tries to think about it.]

[But he needs to speak. He needs to say something or else it would sound as if he doesn't feel the same.]

[It's easier to lift a hand, to let his fingers rest along the side of Gojyo's face. Thumb brushing those lines there - the scars there.]

[Gojyo's shoulders slump with a relief he can't name. Plenty of girls dug his scars, but like calling him hot, they just didn't matter. Hakkai did.
